WELCOME TO THE LUMBAR

We are a casual neighborhood cocktail bar with good eats and great folks.
We believe in using liquid courage to help us dream out loud.
We fuel those dreams and creative ideas with ice cold beer, house-crafted cocktails, lots of drawing space, and bartenders who give a damn.
We use the most brilliant feats in science, education, and history as inspiration to craft food and drinks that make you want to go for it, whatever it is.
No matter whether you’re brainstorming, collaborating, celebrating, or lamenting over your latest mishap, remember that we’ve got your back.

No reservations & No phone. Order at the bar. Last food orders taken 30 minutes before closing. Furry friends allowed on the patio.

Good food is brain fuel and each dish on our menu is specially crafted to feed you and your wildest ideas, whether for a happy hour snack or a late night bite. You’ll find that most of our dishes feature Hatch green chile, thanks to our founders’ New Mexican roots.

We serve liquid courage in the form of 26 beers on Spinal Tap for the 26 vertebrae in the human spine, seasonal wine from all over the world, and cocktails specially-crafted to pay homage to scientific principles and theories. Check out our rotating drink menus themed to initiatives and celebrations we care about.

We use scientific feats of the past and present as catalysts to inspire our community. We host monthly science talks, happy hours, and special celebrations that pay tribute to the biggest and best discoveries that have moved the world forward. PI Day, Shark Week, National Aviation Week, and the 50th anniversary of the Apollo mission are just a few examples.
